Creative Scotland 2012

Scotland is a thriving hub for arts and cultural activities and the Year of Creative Scotland provides the perfect showcase for this creative diversity.

Celebrating talent from around the country, an exciting and imaginative programme of special events will take place throughout the year designed to appeal to both visitors and locals.

From vibrant theatre and dance productions to beautiful art in unusual locations, architecture at the heart of the city and the opportunity to enjoy the work of literary greats, 2012 will be a year of imagination and innovation.

Find inspiration in galleries and museums, at beautiful venues which come alive to the sound of music and follow a range of tours and trails.

Soak up the atmosphere at exciting festivals taking place across Scotland. You will find a huge selection of events from the smooth sounds of jazz to film on the big screen, traditional Scottish music, elegant ballet and lively dance. There are also many larger music festivals taking place amid stunning landscapes outside the cities including T in the Park and RockNess.

Admire iconic architecture which has stood for centuries and enjoy a range of contemporary designs as well. Scotland has long inspired artists, writers, musicians and dancers and the Year of Creative Scotland will shine a spotlight on local, national and international talent, exploring a range of themes.
