The Guides

Discover the Magic of Scotland

We are all highly qualified and experienced Scottish Blue Badge Tourist Guides who, although essentially driver-guides, also take on a variety of tour work throughout Scotland with groups of all sizes.

In town or country, on foot or in coaches, duration can be from a half or full day to an extended tour around the country. We also work with cruise ships, incentives, site inspections and corporate travel.

Our main speciality and emphasis is on driver-guiding. Each of us owns our own vehicle, is personally insured for driver guiding and licensed to drive up to a total of 8 passengers. We can work with pre-planned itineraries or start from scratch, planning your tour for your holiday.

We share a keen interest in Scotland, having been born and raised here. Like many Scots, we are world travellers. Some of us have foreign languages and other specialist qualifications. We are happy to travel outwith Scotland - Wales, Ireland or England.

To learn more about each of us, have a look at our short profiles below then visit our websites for detailed information on each guide.

Kathy Cameron

Kathy, fiddling at Tarskavaig Skye
Fluent English
Fluent Spanish, Español

Hello, I'm Kathy. There’s something special about the West Highlands & Islands which inspires 'home-made' entertainment in the best tradition. You might persuade me to play you a tune on my fiddle or find you a music 'Session' while you try a bite or two of our renowned haggis or savour a home-brewed local ale as we tour the hidden corners of Scotland.

Morag Dunbar

Morag in the Pentlands
Fluent English

Hello, I’m Morag. Being a tourist guide gives me such a great excuse to travel throughout this unique country of Scotland, taking visitors to their own choice of beautiful places, sampling wonderful food and drink (did I mention home-baking?) - all in moderation, of course! What better way to pass the time! And if Scottish music is to be found - even better!

Manuela Fraenkel

Manuela, on the more unusual East side of Loch Lomond, one of the harder-to-get-to places, which you can explore with Scottish Driver Guides
Fluent English
Fluent Spanish, Español
Fluent Italian, Italiano
Fluent German, Deutsch

Hi, Manuela here - what moves me? The desire to see what is round the next corner - and if there is a photo or three, so much the better! Allow yourself to be captivated by Scotland’s culture and mysteries. Happy clients, lots of seafood, even a good malt whisky (but not when driving!) and my smile is as broad as can be!

Fiona Maxwell

Fiona and her car
Fluent English
Fluent French, Français

Hello, I’m Fiona. As an outdoor enthusiast, I'll take you off the beaten track to see shimmering lochs, lonely glens, craggy peaks and tumbling waterfalls. We might visit a distillery or two or explore some ruined castles. I'll thrill you with stories of our past and add some folklore to amuse you. Whatever you want to do, or see, I can promise you a fun-filled and fascinating tour!

Les McInulty

Les on Isle of Lewis

Ceud Mile Failte, from Les in the Gaelic heartland. Find out about tartan, your clan connections, or our lively ceilidh dance music. Let me take you from haunted castles to peat-scented thatched cottages. Walk the hills and coasts with me to look for red deer, eagles and otters. Looking for directions? Well, I can take you via Glenfiddich or Glenmorangie! Slainte!
